London Stansted to launch 'Departures Live Lounge' music fest

Travellers flying from London Stansted Airport will be treated to a music spectacular this spring, as the airport hosts a live music showcase with some of the UK?s hottest artists.

On Saturday, March 2, the airport will launch the UK?s first music festival to take place in the departures lounge of an airport. Celebrating local musical talent, Departures Live Lounge will offer flyers a sneak preview of some of the talented artists lined up to perform at the biggest European music festivals throughout 2019.

Taking place from 2pm until 6pm, Afrobeat duo Lotto Boyzz will open up the festival, performing some of their latest hits including platinum hit ?BAD VIBE? ahead of the start of their headline tour in April, followed by leading London grime MC and Boy Better Know member Jammer who will deliver a live set for holidaymakers travelling through the airport.

The artists will also be joined on the day by The Magic Gang to perform a selection of breezy guitar-pop hits. Eliza and The Bear, one of the UK?s most promising young bands will complete the festival line up at Departures Live Lounge.

Lois Robertson, brand and marketing manager at the airport, said: ?We?re incredibly excited that some of the UK?s best urban and rock artists such as Jammer and The Magic Gang will be performing at London Stansted this March. Departures Live Lounge will see us celebrate some of the finest local musical talent and we?re delighted that many of our travellers will get a first glimpse at some of their favourite acts ahead of their various appearances during this summer?s European Festival season.?
