LATAM Airlines reduces operations by 95%

Following COVID-19 escalations, LATAM Airlines Group and its affiliates (LATAM) has announced a 95% reduction in operations during April 2020.

Measures will be evaluated on an ongoing basis based on travel restrictions imposed by different countries, as well as demand, stated the company.

Passenger operation for international flights:

LATAM will not operate flights to or from Europe in April.

LATAM Airlines Group and LATAM Airlines Brazil will operate limited frequencies respectively between Santiago/SCL and S?o Paulo/GRU, from Santiago to Miami and Los Angeles, as well as from S?o Paulo to Miami and New York. 

Passenger operation for domestic flights:

In Brazil, LATAM Airlines Brazil will continue flying to 39 destinations with reduced frequencies, connecting its S?o Paulo (Guarulhos and Congonhas), Bras?lia and Fortaleza hubs.

In Chile, LATAM Airlines Group will maintain reduced frequencies to 13 of its 16 destinations, temporarily suspending flights to Rapa Nui, Castro and Osorno.

The operations of LATAM?s affiliates in Peru, Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador remain suspended due to national government restrictions. 

Cargo operation has not been limited

For imports, exports and the transport of vital goods in Latin America, LATAM is increasing its cargo fleet capacity by more than 15%. 

Roberto Alvo assumed the role of CEO of LATAM Airlines Group on April 1. The former CEO Enrique Cueto replaced Juan Jos? Cueto to become the new LATAM Airlines Group board member.
