John Barrowman ? actor, presenter and musical star ? has made a surprise visit to TUI?s head office in Luton to meet employees and speak about his starring role in a new integrated communications campaign.
During the visit, team members from around the business were given the low down on the campaign shoot at the TUI Sensatori Resort Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Barrowman also participated in a Q&A session answering a range of questions from which ?I?m a Celebrity? friends he would bring on a TUI cruise (he opted for Emily Atack) to what his favourite biscuit is (it?s an orange Club Biscuit!).
Five lucky people from different areas of the business from retail to product, won a personal audience with John and enjoyed a 20-minute chat with the entertainer. Those who missed out on a personal meet and greet had the chance to shake hands and grab a selfie. And employees not based in Luton were able to be a part of the action via live streaming.
Barrowman said: "This has been such an amazing campaign to be part of and I?ve loved getting to meet everyone today at TUI HQ. We had an incredible shoot in the Dominican Republic and I can?t wait for people to see the content we captured. I can?t give too much away about the campaign right now, but I can say it?s fun, high energy and of course Fabulous! It taps into the essence of what being on holiday truly means."
Katie McAlister, chief marketing officer for the travel operator, said: "We are extremely excited to be working with John Barrowman. He is the perfect partner for TUI and a natural fit for this campaign - and that will become clear when it goes live in early summer. Having John visit our Head Office has been the icing on the cake, bringing everyone together to celebrate not just the campaign but what we do as a business ? taking people away from the everyday to a place they can rejuvenate, reconnect and reunite.?
