Holidaymakers with pre-existing medical conditions benefit from accurate advice from agents when it comes to purchasing appropriate travel insurance.
AllClear Travel Insurance, which specialises in insurance for people with pre-existing conditions has a few tips that agents can pass on to clients who need reassurance before a trip.
For holidays to Europe, it is advised not to rely on the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), particularly given the uncertainty of Brexit. Even in the event of the UK keeping EHIC rights, the card does not cover repatriation costs, and the standard of care varies between countries.
Customers with pre-existing conditons are advised to research and compare prices before travelling and to declare all medical conditions, as failure to do so can result in claims being rejected. The insurance company advises travellers to consider what they need cover for, as a package with a larger excess, or one that does not cover activities the customer will not partake in, could be cheaper.
With bank account travel insurance packages, customers are advised to read the small print to see if pre-existing conditions are covered and, for people travelling with companions, add-ons such as companion cover can be useful especially in the event of a cancellation.
?We know that no one is uninsurable, and passionately believe everyone has the right to travel,? said Chris Rolland, AllClear CEO. ?It is our duty as an industry to provide travellers with pre-existing medical conditions with advice and the necessary support.?
