The airline has witnessed the launch of its inaugural journey to Poland, with celebrations taking place at Keflavík International Airport and Gdansk Airport
The new service adds Gdansk to Icelandair’s growing network, with the route set to take the skies three to four times per week. The route strengthens connectivity between Iceland and Poland, while offering travellers convenient connections to the airline’s vast North American network.
Tomas Ingason, Icelandair’s CCO, said, “We are delighted to celebrate our inaugural flight to Gdansk and the opening of Icelandair’s first destination in Poland. Poland is an important market for us, and this new route further strengthens the ties between our two countries.
“We see strong opportunities in both point-to-point travel and connecting traffic through Keflavík to and from North America. We have received a very warm welcome in Poland and look forward to serving passengers on this route for many years to come."
Gdansk is one of the oldest cities in Poland, famous for its historic waterfront and Old Town. The city has quickly found its way on to travellers’ radars as a year-round destination.
