Hyatt opens its first property in Canada's North

Hyatt Place Whitehorse is not only Hyatt's first property in Canada's North, but the second purpose-built hotel to open in the Yukon capital in over half a century

The property's 115 rooms sit minutes from Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport in the city's downtown, with oversized windows showcasing impressive views of the surrounding mountain range.

Michael Hale, CEO of Northern Vision Development (the developers behind the property), described Hyatt Place Whitehorse as a "defining project... we have created accommodations and services on par with any major city, but with a uniquely Yukon feel."

Alongside the 115 spacious rooms, the property also houses a 24/7 gym, a grab-and-go dining area, and a restaurant, Carved, which serves three meals a day inspired by local cuisine.

Rates start from £136 per room per night.
