Holland America hits the history books with new partnership

The cruise line has announced a new multi-year partnership with The History Channel, comprising of new itineraries and excursions to provide guests with more historical insights into the places visited

The new sailings include the seven-day ‘Norwegian Fjords with Hardangerfjord’ from £1,299 per person; the seven-day’ Mediterranean Marvels of Pompeii’ from £1,099 per person; and the 14-day ‘Arctic Journey & Northern Lights’ from £2,199 per person.

Example shore excursions include visits to the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx on the 11-day ‘Greece & Egypt with History Channel’ voyage, and an exploration of Stavanger on the seven-day ‘Norwegian Fjords & Copenhagen with History Channel’ cruise.

Itineraries and shore excursions created in partnership with The History Channel are now bookable through the cruise line’s ‘Start Your Journey’ campaign.

Kacy Cole, chief marketing officer for Holland America Line, said, “With us, history isn’t just told, it is experienced. As two iconic brands rooted in storytelling, we are uniquely positioned to bring history to life through custom itineraries and shore excursions.”

Additional departures will include visits to the ancient empires in the eastern Mediterranean, an in-depth look into Viking heritage in northern Europe, and the Arctic’s history of polar pioneering. All the details surrounding these excursions will be announced at a later date and signposted on the Holland America Line website.
