Finnair makes Canadian return after a decade

Toronto has been named as the airline’s latest North American destination as Finnair continues its transatlantic expansion

Set to take to the skies from May 4th, 2026, the new route will bridge the airline’s home hub of Helsinki with Canada’s largest city.

The service is expected to operate thrice weekly during the summer season, and marks the first time Finnair has flown to Canada in over a decade.

Anssi Partanen, Finnair market director UK & Ireland, said he is “excited to be re-adding Canada to our extensive network” as the destination is “fast becoming one of the most popular long-haul destinations for European travellers.”

This is the second new service Finnair has announced for next year, with its latest Norwegian destination of Alta announced a few weeks ago.
