The European Tourism Association (ETOA) has boosted its business resources members by adding a coronavirus hub on its website, www.etoa.org - this includes a programme of business support webinars and a resources page with links to a range of official information from the European Union, governments, tourism boards, relevant industry research from international organisations, such as UNWTO and OECD and COVID-19 updates.
To help travel businesses which are operating with cashflow pressures and skeleton staff, the webinars and resource pages aim to help members learn, have discussions and source government financial support to help them survive the period of travel restrictions and plan for recovery.
ETOA is monitoring travel restrictions across Europe as well as those of strategic long-haul source markets, and updating members on how governments across Europe are temporarily applying the Package Travel Directive.
With events currently on hold, ETOA has rescheduled its City Fair event in London for buyers and suppliers of cities in European destinations. This will now be held on July 20, 2020.
Tom Jenkins, ETOA CEO said: ?We have ripped up our current schedules to boost our support systems for our members. Our members are facing an immediate and urgent cash crisis. We have added to our existing resources and stepped-up lobbying efforts in the UK and the EU to ensure that jobs and companies survive these extraordinarily challenging times.?
