Cunard shines during America's 250th anniversary

Cunard's ship took the stage during America's anniversary celebrations in New York

 Cunard's Queen Mary 2 took centre stage in New York Harbour for the 'Sail4th 250' celebrations, and was the centrepiece of the United States' 250th independence day celebrations.

ThedayfeaturedtheInternationalParadeofSail,withmorethan100vesselsparadingthroughtheharbour,including47tallshipsfrom20nations,sailingfromtheVerrazzano-NarrowsBridgepasttheStatueofLibertyanduptheHudsonRivertotheGeorgeWashingtonBridge.

The occasional held significance for Cunard, as July 4th marks the anniversary of the company's very first transatlantic crossing. On July 4th, 1840, RMS Brittania, the line's first ship, departed from Liverpool to Boston.
