Whilst taking delivery of its newest ship, Celebrity Xcel, the cruise line announced the name of its next Edge series ship, which is due to set sail in 2028
Construction began on Celebrity Xcite, the next Edge series ship, just as the Celebrity Cruises leadership and ground team took delivery of Celebrity Xcel.
CEO Jason Liberty said Xcel "represents the next bold step in our journey to transform the way the world experiences premium travel," and teased Xcite.
"Each ship in the Edge Series has reimagined what's possible at sea through elevated design and experiences that deepen the connection to the destinations being visited... we're continuing to set new standards for excellence and innovation alongside our trusted partners at Chantiers de l'Atlantique."
Xcel will begin her inaugural season in Fort Lauderdale, with a choice of seven-night itineraries starting in November. Summer 2026 will see a transatlantic crossing ahead of Xcel's inaugural European season.
