Brazil has shattered recent tourism records by welcoming 121,990 British travellers between January and July 2026, its highest UK visitor volume since the 2014 FIFA World Cup
This unprecedented 11.61% year-on-year surge is driving strategic expansions far beyond traditional tourist circuits, with Northeast Brazil alone capturing 43.9% of these arrivals and individual states like Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul, and Pará seeing explosive British visitor growth of 184%, 173%, and 125%, respectively.
Bolstering this logistical demand, UK–Brazil air connectivity for 2026 is projected to reach 1,095 flights and 369,727 seats, supported by direct London routes from British Airways and LATAM.
“Hitting the highest number of British tourists since 2014 shows that Brazil has secured a permanent place in these travellers' plans,” stated Bruno Reis, president of Embratur/Visit Brasil, emphasising the strategic value and regional impact of this demographic.
“The British seek cultural immersion and contact with nature, and find these two things in practically all Brazilian regions. It is that type of demand, built over time, that sustains the growth of international tourism.”
With 5.87 million total foreign visitors arriving in the first seven months of the year, this soaring momentum reinforces Brazil’s broader commitment to expanding dynamic air connectivity and curating unforgettable, sustainable adventures for modern global travelers.
