‘Barbados Remembers Your Name’ showcases the island’s personal welcome

Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc's new campaign highlights the personal connections and warm welcomes that keep visitors coming back to the memorable island

The Caribbean island boasts a long a history of welcoming visitors back. BTMI’s Loyal Visitor’s Club, a scheme which recognises travellers once they have visited the island 25 times, has more than 500 registered members, with some registering more than 100 trips to Barbados.

Chief executive officer of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc, Andrea Franklin, said, “We hear from repeat visitors all the time that the people are a big part of why they come back to Barbados. Over time, they build relationships here. They have people who remember them and places they always return to, and those connections become part of their Barbados experience.”

Director of marketing, Anderson King, commented, “We wanted a campaign that could work globally while still feeling unmistakably Barbadian. ‘Barbados Remembers Your Name’ gives us a platform to tell many different stories about the destination, but with that same idea of familiarity and connection running through all of them.”

The campaign, which will roll out across the island’s key international markets throughout the month, will be supported by ongoing stories featuring repeat visitors and the Barbadians they return to see.
