Balearic Islands sees UK tourist footfall spike 25%

The Balearic Islands is continuing to see a growing number of tourists from the UK during the winter months.

The archipelago of Spain comprising islands of Formentera, Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca saw a 24.91% increase in UK holidaymakers between November 2017 and March 2018 compared to November 2016 and March 2017, as per official figures from the tourism board. The statistics also reveal how more people are choosing to travel in the off season.

The Balearic Islands tourism board has released a new tourism brochure outlining the cultural, sporting, artistic, gastronomic and wellness events taking place on the islands during the shoulder season running from this October through to May 2019. The brochure was introduced as part of the Balearic Islands tourism campaign called ?Better in Winter?, which aims to promote travel to the islands outside of the high season.
