Bahia Principe Explore San Felipe is celebrating its 20th anniversary, marking a journey defined by a strong connection to Tenerife
Celebrations took place on September 18th with a special event for hotel team members to pay tribute to those who have been part of the journey.
Over the past two decades, nearly half a million guests have stayed at this landmark hotel in Puerto de la Cruz.
Since its acquisition by Piñero in 2006, the hotel has undergone a transformation marked by milestones that reflect its ability to adapt to changes within the industry. This includes navigating the impact of Tropical Storm Delta, expanding its capacity, reopening after the pandemic, and more recently joining Bahia Principe Explore.
In the last few years, the property has also strengthened its commitment to sustainability, through initiatives such as the installation of 500 photovoltaic panels, which marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing environmental strategy.
This anniversary also highlights Piñero’s commitment to Tenerife, where the company owns four hotels: Bahia Principe Explore San Felipe, Fantasia, and Costa Adeje, and Bahia Principe Escape Tenerife.
Bahia Principe Escape Tenerife recently completed a major renovation that strengthened its position as a leading adults-only resort in Costa Adeje, whilst Bahia Principe Explore Costa Adeje is set to reopen in December 2026 following a refurbishment.
These development initiatives further reflect Piñero’s commitment to improving its hotel portfolio in Tenerife, extending it beyond financial investment to integrate with the destination and showcase its unique character.
