ABTA LifeLine raises £14,000 at annual convention

The money will go towards helping the charity handle the influx of applications that have increased three-fold since January 2026

Speaking at the Convention in Madeira, LifeLine Director Trudie Clements called for the industry to come together and help establish sustainable funding needed to ensure the charity can continue its work and help support industry colleagues into the future.

Trudie said, “Every application represents someone who needs help now. LifeLine exists to provide support when travel industry colleagues face some of the most challenging moments in their lives. As demand continues to grow, we need the industry's backing to ensure we can be there for everyone who may need us in the future.”

As part of its fundraising efforts, LifeLine is offering one place in next year’s London Marathon. Anyone interested can register via email, explaining why they would like to take on the challenge in support of the charity. LifeLine is also encouraging travel businesses to support its £2 per employee appeal.
