As overall visitation increased by 21% against 2023, Singapore set a new record in visitor spend last year
The Singapore Tourism Board's chief executive, Melissa Ow, said the "strong performance" last year was "an affirmation of the industry’s efforts in refreshing our products and experiences, as well as embarking on new collaborations this past year."
16.5 million visitors were reported in 2024; total visitor spend has not yet been confirmed but is expected to hit the upper echelons of the tourism board's forecast for the year, between SGD$27.5 billion and SGD$29 billion. If those expectations ring true, 2024 will exceed the record set in 2019, SGD$27.7 billion.
Visitation and overall spend may well see further growth in the coming years, with Gulf Air set to launch a new direct route from Bahrain (bookable with a connection from Manchester and London Heathrow) and Carnival Cruises confirming additional sailings to Singapore in 2026/27.
