British Airways and Virgin Atlantic are set to resume direct flights from London to the Caribbean island of Grenada in time for Christmas getaways.
The services are expected to run soon after the UK government lifts lockdown, due on December 2.
British Airways from London Gatwick and Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow, will fly twice-weekly.
There are some requirements for British passengers visiting the destination. Travel is only permitted to approved hotels, and a list of the 70 operational hotels can be found on the Grenada Tourism Authority website. Visitors will also require a negative COVID-19 test, taken seven days before arrival and must make a booking for at least five nights. Relevant documents must be uploaded online and a contact tracing app should be downloaded.
To go beyond hotel grounds, on the fourth day, travellers are required to take a free COVID-19 test and if they test negative, they can visit approved experiences and restaurants. Masks are mandatory in all public areas and physical distancing should be adhered to.
