WTM 2021: Visit Portugal spotlights new platform and routes

From the Portugese Wine Tourism digital platform to a number of new British Airways services, the destination is primed for a jam-packed 2022. 

Positioning the destination as a leading wine tourism destination, Visit Portugal spotlighted its new 'Portugese Wine Tourism' digital platform at World Travel Market 2021. The platform provides a unique way to explore the country through its vineyards and wine exports and embrace the classic wine culture the country boasts. Guests can access a number of tourism experiences through the platform, as well as events, local tips and region information. 

The destination also shared excitement regarding two recently-announced summer routes to the Azores in 2022. British Airways will fly to Ponta Delgada, on S?o Miguel island, weekly on Saturdays from July 2 to September 3, 2022, as well as a weekly Sunday service to Lajes Airport, on Terceira Island, from July 10 to August 28, 2022.  

Portugal's new offerings is bolstered by a packed 2022 schedule, including the MEO Pro Portugal surfing event from March 3 to March 13, 2022, the Rock in Rio Lisboa music festival spanning two weekends in June 2022, the Flower Festival Madeira throughout August 2022 and plenty more.
