Considered to be the hidden gem of the UAE, Ajman Tourism stated its intention to promote itself as a historical-, cultural-, and eco-destination.
"We are very rich in culture and therefore, we want to focus on culture and our heritage offerings. In our promotions, we want to keep this narrative going so that visitors to get to know this special side of our region," said Khadija Turki, the director for tourism development at Ajman Tourism Development Department.
The Emirate is continually promoting its more eco-conscious offerings, including the promotion of the Al Zohra destination, which is framed by one million square metres of protected mangroves, white sand beaches and lagoons that features almost sixty species of bird, a fish nursery and off shore coral. Tourists are encouraged to plant their own mangrove tree in Al Zohra, leaving their own special mark on the region.
Another focus of Ajman will be on weddings and honeymoons, as the country aims to become a wedding destination, due to the range of five-star luxury hotels that have access to scenic beaches.
In terms of engagement with the travel trade, Ajman is hosting a three-day fam trip to December, as well as an upcoming training scheme for agents which is due to be released next year.
The tourism board will continue its networking events for agents, including roadtrips.
