Wizz Air’s first Extra Long Range aircraft will join the airline’s fleet at London Gatwick in March 2025 where it will offer a daily direct route to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
The move supports Wizz Air’s rapid growth as the Airbus A321XLR will be able to offer travellers direct access to distant destinations for lower fares. Tickets for the Jeddah route are already on sale, leading in from £134.99 one way.
Aiding in the airline’s commitment to sustainable operations, the Airbus A321XLR’s carbon intensity is estimated to be 30% lower than other carriers operating the same route.
József Váradi, Wizz Air’s chief executive officer, said, “[The Airbus A321XLR’s] enhance range capabilities allows Wizz Air to connect the farthest destinations in its network, while also providing opportunities for further expansion, connecting more cultures, economies and continents.
“We are excited to offer unbeatable fares to our customers on the new route from London Gatwick to Jeddah.”
