The first flight to Faro took off, as the UK Government lifted the ban on international travel last week.
Doncaster Sheffield Airport has celebrated Wizz Air UK's first flight since the ban on international travel, with a flight whisking guests to Faro this morning. Wizz Air launched from Doncaster Sheffield in October 2020.
Wizz Air offer value fares to 25 destinations from Doncaster Sheffield, with getaways to Faro notably popular since Portugal was added to the UK's green list for travel. Other summer escapes, including Crete and Fuerteventura, are also available.
Along with their bookings, passengers can book WIZZ Flex, letting them cancel their flight up to three hours before departure and receive 100% of the fare in airline credit, as well as a travel insurance package including Covid-19 cover.
Owain Jones, managing director of Wizz Air UK, said: ?We are delighted to be restarting operations from our Doncaster Sheffield base, bringing back connections to the region, and offering our customers great value travel options for their post lockdown getaway. With 25 routes on offer from Doncaster Sheffield, including seven Spanish sunshine destinations, we are ensuring customers in Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire can fly from their local airport to popular holiday hotspots this summer. We look forward to welcoming passengers back on board our young, modern and sustainable aircraft, where they can rely on our stringent health and hygiene measures and excellent service as they head on their long-awaited summer holiday.?
