Windstar launches Wave Sale with added perks for agents

Windstar's annual event encourages cruisers to book early and now adds bonus commission for agents.

Windstar Cruises' annual 'Wave Sale' has now launched, and includes savings of $1,000 in onboard credit.

The 'Sail Small, Live Large' offer lets travellers pick their perk, giving them saving options including up to $1,000 shipboard credit per stateroom, a one-night stay in a hotel pre- or post-cruise in Europe, a premium beverage package including wine, beer, spirits and soda, or free Wi-Fi during their cruise. Guests can pick one perk, which varies depending on the length of their cruise and room category.

Alongside the 'Pick your Perk' offer, deposits have been reduced from 15% of the total fare to 5%, with Windstar's updated assurance policy allowing for cancellation up to 48 hours prior to departure on all 2021 cruises.

Agents themselves can benefit from the offer with a similar 'Pick your Perk' scheme, meaning agents can redeem a £40 bonus commission payable with regular commission or a £40 gift card payable at final payment - increasing to £80 per booking for new Windstar guests. The currently running groups promotion lets agents earn a Tour Conductor credit at a reduced rate of 1:7 on Star Advantage Group dates. The 'Sell Three, Sail Free' promotion gifts a free cruise to agents who sell three qualifying cruises in 2021 booked before February 28, 2021. Agents' prize cruises can be any voyage of eight days or less and must be taken before March 31, 2022.

Windstar Cruises' vice president of sales, Steve Simao, explained: “With the vaccine here, we are seeing people planning further ahead. Reach out to your clients now to ensure they secure their first choice with us. The wave offer is a tool to help you close the sale and the incentives are a thank you to our valued travel advisor partners. We hope to see you and your clients on our yachts soon.”
