CLIA to host virtual ship seminars for agents

CLIA is hosting a series of webinars for agents, showcasing new and existing ships that have been confirmed to set sail this year.

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is set to hold a series of webinars, inviting agents to join in and learn about new and existing ships that are taking to the seas as the cruise industry begins to restart.

The first group of webinars, 'CLIA Introduces', will invite a number of cruise lines to showcase brand new ships taking to the seas this year.

In total, CLIA will host five complimentary sessions, with the first held on March 25, 2021 at 9:30am. Two cruise line representatives will host an hour-long session, giving agents insider knowledge and selling tips to get their clients back on board this year.

March 25 will see presentations from MSC Cruises and Ponant, May 13 will host Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America Line, May 27 will host Scenic Cruises and Avalon Waterways showcasing their best offerings, June 3 will give agents insight on Royal Caribbean and P&O Cruises, and June 10 showcases AmaWaterways, with another cruise line to be confirmed.

CLIA is also reintroducing a round of virtual ship tours, giving agents expert onboard insight from cruising experts. These hour-long sessions launch on April 8, 2021 and will be held on Thursdays at 9:30am over four weeks in April and May. Four representatives from cruise lines will join each session weekly.

April 8 offers tours on board from Carnival Cruise Line, AmaWaterways, Fred Olsen Cruise Line and APT. April 15 will take agents all aboard with Celebrity Cruises, Holland America Line, Marella Cruises and Seabourn. On April 29, agents will set sail with A-Rosa, Oceania Cruises, Princess Cruises and Nicko. The final webinar, on May 6, will host tours from Amadeus, MSC Cruises, Silversea and Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection.

Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland director, said: ?We are delighted to announce these sessions following a fantastic response from the trade to the virtual sessions we introduced last year. With cruise now firmly on the travel agent agenda, and all of us looking forward to its phased return, now is the perfect time to learn more about the amazing ships that will begin taking to the water soon.?
