UK to celebrate National Travel Agent Day tomorrow

The UK will be celebrating its first ever National Travel Agent Day tomorrow, to acknowledge the valuable role of travel agents and their extraordinary efforts during the COVID-19 crisis.

Companies from across the industry, including trade bodies, travel agents, tour operators, tourist boards and airlines, will be celebrating the day with virtual appreciation events.

Intrepid Travel group will be hosting interesting sessions on the Travel Gossip and Intrepid Loves Agents Facebook pages tomorrow. To attend these sessions, visit:https://www.facebook.com/groups/TravelGossipUK/ and https://www.facebook.com/groups/IntrepidLovesAgents/

The line-up includes interviews with travel agents, about how they went above and beyond their duties for clients, when travel was disrupted by the pandemic. There will be a Q&A session with customers about why they value their travel agents, as well as video messages from special guests.

In the afternoon, there will be quizzes, competitions and awards. Intrepid Travel has asked agents to share some ?above and beyond? stories of colleagues who went an extra mile for clients during the COVID-19 crisis. Nominees will have the chance to win an Intrepid trip for two, to Morocco. Entries should be sent to UKPGM@intrepidtravel.com

Intrepid Travel?s EMEA managing director Zina Bencheikh said: ?The response to National Travel Agent Day from across the industry has been fantastic so far. We have a host of exciting plans for Friday and cannot wait to recognise and reward agents for the essential role they play in our industry.?
