Türkiye’s national carrier has confirmed 2023 was a record-breaking year: 84.3 million passengers took flight with the airline, representing a 23.5% domestic capacity rise and international growth of 16%.
Customers flying internationally represented 53 million of the 84.3 million who flew in 2023.
The airline noted that while global international airline capacity remains 12% behind 2019 (according to International Air Transport Association statistics), it managed to bolster capacity by 27% against the same year.
Turkish Airlines plans to expand its fleet to 800 by 2023, with a 12% increase (to 440 aircraft) supporting last year's impressive growth.
