p>Mondial Assistance UK has joined forces with TUI Travel UK & Ireland to launch TUI In A Box. Thee off-the-shelf travel insurance product, to be sold in Thomson and First Choice shops, will be promoted to customers alongside Foreign Exchange bureaus, enabling customers to choose and pay for the relevant policy while buying their currency.
Once purchased, customers can activate the policy themselves by going online within 14 days of purchase and inputting basic information, such as the policy number and unique receipt number. Customers can select from eight insurance policies, including single trip cover for individuals and families and a new annual multi-trip policy.
Nick Longman, distribution director at TUI UK said: "This is a major coup for us in becoming a big player in the travel sector to bring off the shelf travel insurance policies to our customers. Our partnership with Mondial Assistance has allowed us to take our travel insurance offering to the next level, putting customers in control of their cover options at the point of sale.?
