Travel Counsellors reports rise in last-minute multi-destination holidays

36% of bookings through the agent platform last month were from couples, with many opting for last-minute, multi-destination trips. 

47% of all of Travel Counsellors' package holidays sold in May 2023 were booked by couples, with a 7% surge in late bookings for summer departures, including 296 bookings made in the last week for June departures.

Popular late bookings featured breaks to Italy and Spain, with the UAE, Bali and Mauritius topping the list too. 

Almost half (47%) of young couples that have booked in 2023 have opted for a premium leisure holidays, from trips exploring southeast Asia to short breaks to Iceland with multiple tours. 

Cruise continues to rise in demand, with 14% of last month's sales reflecting bookings with a cruise component, up 32% from May 2022.
