The Nile to welcome new TUI ship next year after 2024 success

TUI River Cruises has responded to demand for the upcoming season, which has seen TUI Al Horeya sell out 75% of its programme, by confirming another vessel, TUI Bahareya, will be joining the fleet in winter 2025

TUI Bahareya will be the sixth adults-only ship in the TUI River Cruises fleet. Its name, translating to 'belongs to the river' in Arabic, will fittingly be stationed on the Nile with seven-night all-inclusive trips roundtrip from Luxor.

The vessel will operate two separate itineraries ('Ancient Gods and Famous Pharaohs' and 'Legends of the Nile') alternating each month.

The newly refurbished five-star vessel can accommodate 136 passengers in 68 cabins.

Two coinciding flights will operate from London Gatwick and Manchester to Luxor. Each direct service will operate weekly from November 4th, 2025 to April 21st, 2026 in line with Bahareya's winter programme.

Katy Berzins, head of TUI River Cruises, said the ship represents the cruise line's "continued growth as a relatively new River cruise brand, and we are confident that given sales for our first Nile cruise, the launch of TUI Bahareya will go down really well with current and prospective customers."

Dedicated Egyptologists will await guests on board to guarantee an expert perspective on the Nile's history, with two itineraries including a range of excursions from a guided tour of the Temples of Horus to a visit to the Kom Ombo temple.

Prices lead in from £1,499 per person, based on two adults sharing a Superior French Balcony cabin on an all-inclusive basis aboard the January 6th, 2026 sailing with flights.
