RateHawk has unveiled the most popular destinations booked on its accommodation platform for the upcoming Easter holiday period
Impressively, long-haul performance has increased by 12% against 2024, representing 47% of all bookings made by agents across Europe. Ilya Kravtsov, the Emerging Travel Group's CCO, reported that this long-haul demand "correlates with the recent launch of multiple long-haul flights from Europe to Asia, North America, and the GCC, increasing global connectivity."
Among those popular long-haul destinations, Japan and the USA took the two top spots Europe-wide, with the UAE and Thailand also cracking the top 10. The former has earned a 12.2% share of all bookings, double the figure of 2024. Operators such as Ramble Worldwide have recently suggested that "there has never been a better time for agents to recommend Japan."
British travel agents are reporting impressive growth for GCC destinations like Saudi Arabia and the UAE; bookings for the former have increased by two-and-a-half times in the last year, while the UAE has doubled its share of Brits' bookings.
Spain, Italy, France, the UK, Portugal and Türkiye took the remaining spots. UK agents specifically have booked the USA, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Spain and Thailand most for the upcoming Easter period.
