Scottish small ship cruise company The Majestic Line has launched cruises to the Orkney Islands in its new brochure for 2021-22, which comprises 18 itineraries
The brochure includes an extended season with Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal cruises. Voyages will feature on-board chefs preparing gourmet meals with locally sourced ingredients.
The company's newest ship, MV Glen Shiel will take groups of 12 on a six-night cruise round the Orkney Islands, which is made up of 70 islands and has more than 600 miles of coastline. It has four departures scheduled between July and August 2022.
Commenting on the addition of Orkney to the itinerary, Ken Grant, managing director of The Majestic Line said: ?Orkney has always been somewhere we have wanted to cruise; so with the launch of MV Glen Shiel last year, it seemed like the right time to do so. This has been a difficult year and we hope that in 2021 and 2022, more people will choose to discover the islands and coastlines of their own country, with a small ship cruise.?
In addition, guests can experience a different side of the North Coast 500, with a complementing cruise around the Orkneys. Two cruises, both ten nights long, from Oban to Orkney and Orkney to Oban, will offer guests a rare chance to escape to remote parts of the northern and western coast of Scotland.
The season for the new brochure starts in March, when guests can cruise the calm waters of the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. The cruise includes warm and welcoming cabins and gourmet food and drinks, and is priced from ?1,900.
The cruise company has offered all guests who booked in 2020 the opportunity to rebook their cruises into 2021 and 2022. Two cabins on each cruise are retained for single occupancy at no additional surcharge.
