Tel Aviv to host a virtual tour to celebrate Pride Month

While travel restrictions have put on hold Pride Month parades all over the world, Tel Aviv is still celebrating through a series of virtual and alternative marches

The Queer Artists and Drag Queens City Takeover, scheduled tomorrow, will see more than 100 drag queens and queer artists take over the city?s streets, in honour of the Pride Month. There will be live shows in central locations and open spaces like restaurants, local businesses and rooftops, as well as the Pride Month Virtual Tour on Zoom at 6pm GMT.

The virtual tour will visit some of the city's LGBTQ landmarks, explore the city's queer history and culture, and discuss LGBTQ life in Israel.

Tel Aviv's annual Pride Parade is widely recognised as one of the world?s leading LGBTQ+ events, attracting more than 250,000 people from around the world last year. The city is well-known for being open-minded and progressive, as it welcomes LGBTQ tourists and offers an array of gay-friendly tourist attractions.

Leon Avigad, founder of Brown Hotels, Israel said: "What I love about Tel Aviv is its liberalism. As a city, it is very open minded and offers an inclusive gay community, allowing you to be anyone you like. My favourite gay hangouts include Shpagat, and the gay beach, which is close to Brown Beach House and the newly opened Brown Seaside. At Brown Hotels, it does not matter what your sexual orientation is, or who you identify as. All are welcome."

Sharon E. Bershadsky, director of Israel Government Tourist Office in London: ?With Pride parades and events on hold for the time being, there is no reason why the LGBTQ+ traveller can?t start planning for a future trip to Tel Aviv, one of the world?s most gay-friendly cities in the world. Host to a multitude of bars and clubs, gorgeous beaches, fabulous hotels and an electric atmosphere, Tel Aviv is a slice of heaven for gay travel. With its warm weather and sunshine, Israel offers the perfect getaway, especially during the UK?s cooler months. We look forward to welcoming you all to Israel ? the Land of Creation.?
