p>We are advising travellers to continue with plans to visit Egypt as normal while the UK Embassy in Cairo is temporarily closed.Travel advisories issued by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) remain unchanged since recommendations against travel in certain regions were lifted in November.
Travellers to Cairo and surrounding areas are advised only to take normal travel precautions. The FCO has advised that operations at the Embassy will resume as soon as possible and that British nationals in Egypt requiring consular assistance should phone 022 791 6000.
As always, we will continue to take all measures to ensure the safety of visitors to Egypt and will advise should there be any changes to the current situation.
