South Africa's Thornybush Game Lodge re-launches with new design

The luxury collection reveals a fresh vibe for the Greater Kruger National Park Game Lodge, with a new family villa set to open in May 2023.

The design brief was to breathe fresh life into the exclusive safari lodge, while keeping it true to its original charm. The new style offers a contemporary yet timeless retreat with an intimate ambience for guests wanting a serene safari experience.

The Thornybush Game lodge will boast a new gym and spa complex, with an added solar plant to provide a greener solution and to limit reliance on South Africa’s energy supply. Guests can also enjoy authentic Ottolenghi-inspired buffets sat around a campfire as they take in the surroundings of the Thornybush Nature Reserve.

JB Burger, head of sales and marketing, Thonybush, said, “Our aim was to ensure that everything that is loved and treasured about Game Lodge was maintained and kept to the high-level standard that has been carried throughout all these years. We hope that both first-time and repeat guest will experience the treasures and charm of the iconic property, whilst enjoying the elevated modernised environment.”

Thornybush Game Lodge will also launch the new family accommodation Kamara House in May 2023, offering a relaxed and elegant two-bedroom villa for larger groups. Prices for Kamara House start from £3,250 per night.
