Anguilla highlights its winter sun offering for Brits

Anguilla is kicking off a focused promotion to highlight its winter sun offering, as it moves into the next phase of reopening.

Anguilla?s sugar-soft warm sands and vivid turquoise waters make it a perfect winter sun getaway. As the island welcomes visitors back following its all-ports closure since late March, the Anguilla Tourist Board is working on new ways to attract visitors in a post-COVID-19 world, like welcoming long-stay travellers to the island for up to a year to work beach side.

Slated to begin with arrivals from November 1, phase 2 will see the introduction of a new ?island bubble? concept, to ensure that your guests can enjoy a complete holiday experience while in quarantine at their chosen accommodation.

?Island bubbles? will be formed between hotels, resorts and villas that have been certified for inclusion on the approved accommodation list and a selection of approved amenities, restaurants, bars, services and activity providers that are in the nearby area, to safely offer guests access to a variety of options to enjoy while they stay in place.

A new fee-paying visitor application process is in place and covers two tests (one on arrival, one after 10 or 14 days on island) as well as additional safety protocols, but costs are subsidised by the Government of Anguilla to keep these as low as possible. In fact, fees have been reduced for Phase 2 reopening to just over ?300 per person.

Visitors to Anguilla now need to head to the Tourist Board website (www.ivisitanguilla.com) and complete a form to initiate the process.

Beach bars, hotels and activity providers are all gearing up for additional arrivals and looking forward to welcoming tourists back to the COVID-free island from the end of October onward. With interest in Caribbean breaks on the rise due to the number of viable travel corridors, Anguilla is set to be a hot destination this winter.

The island?s 33 pristine white sand beaches, which are all open to the public, are a major draw but there?s plenty to do besides lounging in the sun.
