SLH launches new properties in Italy and the Maldives

Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has launched a new hotel in Italy this month, and plans to reopen a former member hotel in Maldives on November 1.

Galleria Vik Milano in Milan has 88 rooms and priced at ?222 per night, including breakfast. The property is part hotel, part post-modern art gallery, with bold murals, striking sculptures, and a colourful palette, representing the city?s rich artistic heritage. Bedrooms and corridors are exhibition spaces featuring of renowned artists, such as Giuseppe Gonella, Pino Pinelli, to Felipe Cardena and Shinya Sakurai. The Adriano Pompa Gallery Suite includes a mezzanine-level bed beneath a Renaissance-style mural. Dining options include Vikissimo, and I Dodici Gatti, with its all-day wine and dine services and wood-fired pizza. Located in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the hotel has some of Milan?s most noteworthy shops, landmarks, restaurants and galleries.

Huvafen Fushi Maldives, meanwhile, has been revived as a SLH property, offering 44 rooms with prices starting at ?1,268 per night, including breakfast. The property offers a luxurious escape with accommodation such as a two-bedroom beach pavilion overlooking the garden and pool, and an ocean bungalow with pool, a three-tiered deck, staircase into the sea, and a glass floor to see myriad tropical fish. The under-the-sea spa has two underwater treatment rooms with panoramic reef views. The Beata Aleksandrowicz massage, combining deep tissue and trigger-points techniques with energy work, Thai stretches and touch therapy, is a popular option here.
