Coach tour specialist Shearings has kicked off 2023 by scrapping single room supplements at 27 of the Coast and Country hotels featured in its UK holiday brochures.
The 'Coast & Country' hotels with no single room supplement are in some of the UK's popular UK destinations, stretching from Fort William in Scotland to St. Mawes in Cornwall with hotspots in Yorkshire, the Lake District, the Isle of Wight, Wales and the South Coast.
The hotels include historical country houses and prime-position seafront accommodation, with famous hotels such as the Royal Hotel, Whitby, the Imperial Hotel, Tenby and the Windermere Hotel in the Lake District included in the no single room supplement offer.
Shearings’ head of retail sales, Ashley Dellow said: “We absolutely understand why hotels charge a single supplement but it’s really good news that we can now offer a great selection of UK holidays with no single room supplement. The number of customers choosing to travel solo is increasing year-on-year and we’re pleased to be able to encourage this.
"Customers shouldn’t be put off going on holiday because they have no one to share a room with, or they prefer privacy. There is limited availability on single-occupancy rooms at each hotel, and agents should urge their customers to book early to secure their preferred dates with no supplement.”
Double/twin rooms designed for two people to share will still incur a supplement for sole occupancy.
