Shearings launches new TV commercial airing across ITV, C4, C5 & Sky channels

Shearings launched its brand-new TV commercial in time for the Christmas break, across ITV, Channels 4 and 5 and around 30 Sky channels.

The 30 seconds commercial, produced by the JMS Group from an Accord Marketing concept, features Gary Thacker, a real-life Shearings’ coach driver for more than 25 years.  Yorkshireman Gary worked for Shearings under the previous ownership and after the Shearings brand was rescued by Leger Holidays and once domestic travel resumed Gary began driving again for Shearings’ UK tours.

The advertisement targets a 60+ audience with a value proposition, promoting Shearings’ famous UK coach tours and the importance of the experienced friendly drivers, who also act as guides.  

The purchase of the Shearings’ brand during lockdown in 2020, by former competitor Leger Holidays couldn’t have been more timely; with Leger predominantly selling European coach holidays, post-lockdown the Shearings’ UK tours were a resounding success.  With some uncertainty still surrounding oversea travel the signs are that 2022 will continue to be a winner for the brand. The ad also promotes a £1 deposit.
