San Francisco launches webinar series alongside reopening

San Francisco Travel Association (SFTA) will launch a four-part webinar series starting on September 8, to update agents on San Francisco as a tourist destination.

The four webinars will run at 16:30 pm (BST) on September 8, September 22, October 6, and October 20. The first episode starts with a culinary twist, where SFTA members will be joined by Visit Napa Valley. Each episode will have different regional partners, such as Napa Valley, Yosemite, Monterey and Sonoma.

The series has been designed to offer insights to travel agents about San Francisco's outdoor areas, road trip opportunities, and high-end products.

The plan to showcase San Francisco as a tourist destination comes alongside the region's phased reopening to tourists. Last week, San Francisco?s Mayor, London N. Breed, announced the next steps in the phased reopening of San Francisco?s businesses and cultural activities.

All outdoor and indoor activities, outdoor massage, outdoor swimming pools, non-contact recreational activities, indoor malls without food courts, have resumed in the beginning of September. Hotels, outdoor tour buses and boat trips, mini golf and indoor museums, zoos are scheduled to reopen in mid-September, while the end of September will see indoor personal services, one-on-one personal training, and solo use of indoor gyms and fitness centres.

?We know our communities and businesses are anxious to get back to work and start doing some regular activities,? said Dr. Grant Colfax, director of Health. ?We will continue our deliberate and gradual reopening as it allows us to monitor the spread, manage its immediate challenges and mitigate the long term impact on our city. Our reopening pace will be informed by our ability to manage the risk of more activity that may result in more cases and hospitalisations.?
