Riviera Travel open bookings for British Isles cruises this summer

Places are now available on the operator's July voyages across Britain and Ireland.

Riviera Travel has revealed to the trade that it has made places available on its British Isles cruises in July this year; it's the first time the brand has offered Britain and Ireland-based voyages, in preparation for the return of the 'staycation' and international travel planned for this summer.

The brand is offering four eight-day sailings, two to Scotland's Highlands & Islands and two around Ireland. All routes will be served by the new-to-brand, 158-guest MS Seaventure, a ship refurbished in 2019. The expedition-ready ship is the only one of its size cruising the British Isles this year, meaning it can dock and explore smaller harbours on the British coast.

The 'Cruising Scotland's Highlands & Islands' itinerary departs from Edinburgh, taking in Aberdeen and Balmoral Castle, heading to Inverness, Orkney, Oban, the Outer Hebrides and County Donegal in Ireland, concluding in Greenock. Optional tours include trips to Loch Ness, the Neolithic Ring of Brodgar henge and stone circle, and the Callanish Standing Stones. Starting from ?1,999 per person, the voyage includes full board, tours, visits as per the itinerary and all port taxes.

A 'Cruising the Emerald Isle' round trip, departing from Greenock, ventures through Belfast, Dublin, Kilkenny, Galway, County Donegal and Cork, with cruisers having the chance to visit Kilkenny Castle, Kylemore Abbey, or take a walking tour of Belfast and the Titanic Visitor Centre. The cruise also starts from ?1,999 per person on the same basis.

Head of product cruise & worldwide at Riviera Travel, Katja Hildebrandt, explained: ?We?re thrilled to be able to offer British Isles cruises for the first time ever, and to give guests the chance to enjoy the best of Ireland or Scotland by sea. Both cruises offer a unique insight into these countries, as passengers can explore ports inaccessible to larger ships for a much more authentic experience. Places are limited, so if you?re looking to offer customers an exclusive cruise close to home, now is the ideal time book up.?
