RIU Hotels resumes activity in the USA, reopens Riu Plaza Miami Beach

RIU Hotels reactivates its business in the USA with the opening of the Riu Plaza Miami Beach on June 4.

Earlier in March, the hotel chain had closed its 99 establishments in 19 countries. RIU has announced the reopening of two of its urban hotels at the end of May, in Germany and Mexico, as a first step towards resuming its operations.

As was the case with the Riu Plaza Berlin and Riu Plaza Guadalajara on May 25, the Riu Plaza Miami Beach is fully prepared to apply the safety protocols contained in the RIU post-COVID manual for hotels, which provides the maximum safety guarantees for both guests and employees. Workers at the Riu Plaza Miami Beach assumed the responsibility for applying the 17 protocols created by the chain in collaboration with the consulting firm Preverisk.

RIU has created a specific training programme for implementation of the safety, hygiene and operating protocols at its hotels in preparation for the gradual reopening of its facilities. The measures are meticulous and strict, based on limiting the occupation of the hotels to 50% or 60%, except where legal requirements are more restrictive, to offer the maximum peace of mind and safety to users and employees. These will be relaxed as the health authorities issue new regulations.
