Becoming the chains first hotel to undergo a second major refurbishment, the four-star all-inclusive has welcomed new facilities, restaurants, and bars.
Riu Gran Canaria has opened following an extensive refurbishment, as part of the brand's plan to refurbish its hotels every 10 to 12 years.
Following its initial refurbishment in 2013, the hotel has completed its second as of August 2023. Beyond amenity refurbishment and new dining options, the project has also seen the resort improve energy efficiency, waste management/reduction and water consumption.
Hosting 639 rooms, the renovated accommodation have combined wooden furniture with green and beige tones, with façades extended to give guests greater space and comfort.
The lobby has also been remodelled with a larger reception area and more natural light.
Riu Gran Canaria's main restaurant, Las Dunas, has welcomed a complete makeover, with new terraces in the garden. Atlántico, Kaori, and Pepe's Food, three dining options, are still in service, with gorumet Kulinarium and Italian Amore Mio joining the dining roster.
A new Sports Bar and Tivoli lounge bar in the garden has joined a packed lineup of location options for tipples, too.
Outdoors, a new pool has been constructed, with the resort now offering seven.
