The welcome service greets customers travelling to the market by coach, and is organised by the city?s leisure tourism programme Visit Birmingham.
Passenger numbers for 2013 have increased by over 200 people compared with 2012, already surpassing 7,400 ? the highest on record.
Emma Gray, director of marketing services at Marketing Birmingham ? which manages the Visit Birmingham ?Meet and Greet? service ? said:
?Attracting more than four million visitors each year, the Frankfurt Christmas Market is the pinnacle of Birmingham?s festive calendar. The record number of bookings with our bespoke ?Meet and Greet? service shows that a personal welcome goes a long way. We want to provide visitors with the best possible welcome this Christmas, and offer a first class experience from the moment they arrive until they set home.?
The ?Meet and Greet? service will run as part of the city?s festive campaign ?Christmas now trending in Birmingham?, designed to entice visitors to spend a weekend break in Birmingham during Christmas and New Year.
The multimedia campaign ? showcasing the city?s selection of food and drink, seasonal events, culture, retail and attractions ? is supported by a number of partners including Retail Birmingham, rail operator London Midland and the European Regional Development Fund.
A dedicated section of the Visit Birmingham website, visitbirmingham.com/christmas, has been set up to guide visitors around the seasonal activities and events.
The ?Meet and Greet? service is available every day of the market from 10am until 1pm by pre-booking only, by calling 0844 888 3883 or emailing visit@marketingbirmingham.com.
