Radisson Hotel Group expands African portfolio with seven new additions

The seven new properties will add 1,200 rooms to Radisson’s African portfolio, and will mark the brand’s debut opening in Tanzania.

After identifying the country as a key market for the Group’s expansion, Radisson will open two Tanzanian properties in the first half of 2025: the 138-room Radisson Blu Hotel & Apartments, Dar es Salaam; and the 196-room Radisson Hotel Mwanza.

In Nigeria, Radisson continues to hold a leading position with its 13-strong portfolio in operation and under construction, including five new signings in 2023. The new signing of Radisson RED Hotel Abuja will further bolster the Group’s presence in the city.

Growing from one hotel to over nine in operation and four in development from 2020, the Group continues its strong trajectory, especially within Casablanca with the additional signing of Radisson Blur Hotel & Apartments Casablanca Finance City and Radisson RED Hotel Casablanca Finance City. The property aids in solidifying the Group’s ambition to reach 25 hotels across the country by 2030.

The Group has also added Radisson Blu Hotels & Conference Center, Tunis (Tunisia); and Park Inn by Radisson Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) to its bolstered portfolio.

Ramsay Rankoussi, vice president of development, Africa and Turkey at Radisson Hotel Group, highlighted how the seven additions demonstrate “significant growth in key African markets such as Morocco, Nigeria, Tunisia and Ethiopia, as well as out highly anticipated debut in Tanzania.”

“With a strong first half of the year, we plan to continue the momentum in the second half by focusing on expanding our presence in key markets such as Morocco and South Africa, where we have recently announced our ambition to reach 25 hotels by 2030, doubling the portfolio in both countries.”
