UK flight bookings are up 187% compared to this time last year, largely attributed to Sunshine Saturday and the airlines expansive network of ever-popular destinations.
Two new destinations, Colombo and Manila, have made their way into the top five destinations booked by UK travellers in the current period: Doha, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur remained strong destinations as in 2023.
The top-searched destinations on the Qatar Airways platform included Doha, Colombo, Islamabad, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong, Lahore, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne.
Setting sights for this summer, the airline also revealed the top destinations booked from each of their UK bases:
London Heathrow: Doha, Colombo, Denpasar (Bali), Kathmandu, Hong Kong
London Gatwick: Colombo, Islamabad, Doha, Lahore, Sydney
Manchester: Islamabad, Doha, Lahore, Bangkok, Sialkot
Birmingham: Islamabad, Doha, Colombo, Jeddah, Lahore
Edinburgh: Bangkok, Singapore, Brisbane, Doha, Melbourne
Further insights also revealed that business class flight bookings grew as 2023 matured (between April and November) with a 6% rise against the same period pre-pandemic.
