Princess Cruises extends suspensions but preserves agent commissions

Princess Cruises has suspended cruises on Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, Sapphire Princess, Sea Princess, and Sun Princess until the end of October, as well as suspending other voyages until December 15.

The suspensions include all cruises sailing in and out of Australia on Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, Sapphire Princess, Sea Princess, and Sun Princess until October 31, 2020, as well as all sailings in Asia, Caribbean, California Coast, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama Canal, South America and Antarctica, Japan, and Tahiti and the South Pacific until December 15, 2020.

However, the cruise line has assured that the travel agent commissions on bookings for cancelled cruises that were paid in full will be protected, as a gesture of gratitude for their critical role in their business.

?We share in our guests? disappointment in cancelling these cruises,? said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises. ?We look forward to the days when we can return to travel and the happiness it brings to all who cruise,? he added.

Guests, who had booked these voyages and had paid the cruise line in full, will have the option of receiving a refundable Future Cruise Credit (FCC), equivalent to 100% of the cruise fare paid; and an additional non-refundable bonus equal to 25% of the cruise fare. Princess Cruises will double the deposit, for those who have not paid in full; providing a refundable FCC for the money currently on deposit, plus a matching bonus FCC that can be used on any voyage until May 1, 2022. The matching bonus FCC is non-refundable and will not exceed the base cruise fare amount of the booked cruise, the minimum value of which is ?100 per person. These FCCs will be made available to the guests automatically. The last date to receive refund requests is August 31, 2020; otherwise guests will be registered for the Future Cruise Credit option.
