PortAventura World to open its first carbon-neutral hotel this June

Hotel Colorado Creek, PortAventura World?s sixth hotel, will offer four-star accommodation and will have direct access to PortAventura Park.

This new hotel, scheduled to open its doors on June 1, will have 150 rooms, bringing the resort total to more than 2,200 rooms.

Inspired by the Far West gold rush and mirroring the style of this particular era, the hotel will offer guests a wide range of benefits such as unlimited access to PortAventura Park, one-day access to Ferrari Land, Express Premium wristband for PortAventura Park, breakfast buffet and free gifts for children.

The entertainment resort is one of the first companies to sign the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism for sustainable tourism and Colorado Creek is now the latest addition to its CSR portfolio.

In collaboration with Clean CO2, a carbon management brand, PortAventura World will continue to reduce its emissions by purchasing Verified Emission Reductions (VERs), a carbon credit for projects that improve the environment. Through this initiative, it will also be supporting the Malawi Borehole project which focuses on the restoration of wells for local communities in Malawi. The project aims to provide 450,000 people with clean drinking water.

Fernando Aldecoa, general director of the resort, said: ?Colorado Creek will be PortAventura World?s first carbon-neutral hotel and in time, the park aims to extend this commitment to other areas of the resort. PortAventura World is continuing to consolidate its commitment to the environment with a responsible and sustainable management model, a cornerstone of the company?s ESG policy?.
