Pierre & Vacances launches pro-cycling holidays in Altea Hills, Spain

The accommodation specialist has teamed up with the professional 1t4i-Shimano cycling team at its Premium Altea Hills Residence on the Costa Blanca to offer a pro-cycling experience where guests are able to explore the Sierra de Bernia and Spanish coastline with cycling experts.


There are 30 spaces each week for guests to take part in as many training and technical sessions as they like and join some or all of the daily excursions which range between 70-110km. The routes vary between the coastline and the mountains and all include uphill sections.


Each cyclist is fitted with their own professional bike for the week and preferences and heights are sent to the team beforehand so the bike is ready to use on arrival. The professionals can also give inside tips on bike mechanics and advise on sports diets.


The four-star Altea Hills property in the Sierra de Bernia features four outdoor swimming pools, a spa, sauna, hamman and a range of treatments including thalassotherapy and volcanic stone massages. Accommodation is available in one-bedroom apartments, which include a kitchen and living area or double bedrooms.


Seven-night packages start from ?530 per person based on two people sharing and includes breakfast, cycling equipment, guided cycling excursions and workshops and use of Altea Hills facilities. Packages including all meals lead in at ?652 per person and group rates for four to eight people start from ?611 per person.
