Peru has followed in the footsteps of Argentina, Brazil and Mexico to become the latest big hitter for Hayes & Jarvis, with bookings increasing by 163% this year compared with 2011 on the back of a big increase in demand for Latin American holidays.

The increase in demand follows an expansion in the number and range of Peruvian holidays offered by the operator this year.

As examples, in its latest Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America brochure, covering bookings to March 2013, the company is, for the first time, offering its more adventurous customers the chance to walk the Soft Inca Trail on a group hike to Machu Picchu. Departures run throughout the year and the four-day trek costs from ?549 per person.

The brochure also caters for holidaymakers with restricted time with a shorter six-day escorted tour ? Treasures of Peru (from ?1,999), which covers all the major highlights and can also be combined with a four-night Lake Titicaca & La Paz mini-circuit tour. Both group and private departures are available.
