AmaWaterways reports Seine surge after Paris Olympics

AmaWaterways has reported a remarkable surge in French river cruise bookings from the UK, driven by the Paris Games held this summer from July 26th to September 8th, 2024

The company witnessed a dramatic 125% increase in bookings for Seine river cruises alone. Overall, the company’s French cruise programme, which spans the Seine, Rhone, Saone, and Dordogne rivers, experienced a 28% increase in bookings. This rise in reservations is mirrored by a significant 47% uptick in the number of travel agencies making these bookings compared to the previous year.

Jamie Loizou, Managing Director of AmaWaterways, remarked, “The spotlight that the summer games has shone on Paris and the rest of France has acted to remind people what a very special part of the world it is. With eight itineraries now operating in France, including our two new Grand Voyages which combine the Seine with Bordeaux and the Rhone, our agent partners have capitalised not only on this increased interest, but also on the widest selection of departures we have ever had in France.”

AmaWaterways’ luxury river cruises offer an array of indulgent experiences, including fine dining with The Chef's Table speciality restaurant, unlimited wine, beer, and soft drinks with lunch and dinner, a daily Sip & Sail cocktail hour, and a selection of small group excursions in each port
